And in honor of this, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (in Dutch, I know, but Google will be able to crappily translate it for you into your language of choice) with some great pics from DAF's history.

We all know DAF is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but did you know, as I also just found out, that DAF started out as a machine/repair shop, then branched out into the trailer industry (from whence DAF came, van Doorne's Aanhangwagenfabriek, or van Doorne's Trailer Factory), !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and didn't make trucks until after WWII?
AND they built a bus with an engine that could slide out in 1949.
Right on, DAF! Here's to a million more.

Visiting the DAF museum in Eindhoven in a few weeks. Did you know the DAF cars were even exported to the US?

They did! And over 20.000 units were shipped over there if I remember correct. Fellow US-opponaut Jonee owned one a time ago, he mentioned this site if you're interested. And there's even a DAF Club of America !
